Lee Daniels’ Releases ‘Star’ Trailer

The long-awaited trailer for Lee Daniels’ new drama “Star” has arrived and not a moment too soon as “Empire” comes to an end. The series, which follows an aspiring girl group as they face obstacles in the music business, stars Queen Latifah as the lead singer’s Godmother. Lenny Kravitz makes an appearance in the clip and it is reported, celebs like Joseline Hernandez have also been cast on the show.

Lee Daniels posted a clip of “Star” on Instagram earlier today, leaving fans super excited for the show’s premiere in 2017.

Sanaa Lathan Stars In ‘Shots Fired’

Sanaa Lathan and Mack Wilds star in “Shots Fired.” Sanaa, who looked incredible in a sexy (but appropriate) LBD at the FOX upfront yesterday, took to Instagram to tease the highly anticipated and controversial show, describing it as a “mystery/thriller inspired by the deaths of African American men and women at the hands of law enforcement and #BlackLivesMatter movement.”

The 10-hour event series is written and executive-produced by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood.

Teyonah Parris To Stars As Miki Howard In “Love Under New Management”

FOX isn’t the only network pulling some major punches this season, TV announced its first Unsung feature film “Love Under New Management” starring Teyonah Parris as Miki Howard.

According to the press release, “The original film follows the journey of Miki Howard, from a homeless teenager who was forced to fend for herself to ultimately rise to become a beloved chart-topping, award-winning R&B princess whose voice was undeniably one of the best in the business.”

Marlon Wayans Lands NBC Show

NBC picked up Marlon Wayans’ show “Marlon” that reportedly follows him as “a loving but immature father” who is “committed to co-parenting his two kids with his ex-wife.”

Essence Atkins, who starred alongside Marlon in “A Haunted House, will play his wife. The two have amazing chemistry so this should be a light and fun show to watch with the kids.
