MSNBC’s Joy Reid will take over former host Melissa Harris Perry’s slot on the cable news network. Reid will have her own show during 10am-12pm on Saturday and Sundays, AdWeek reported. Reid’s show will be different from the one MPH hosted before leaving her post earlier this year.

“Melissa did a show that was incredibly valuable. Instead of trying to replace it, we will fill the space with something new; something compelling, and something that adds to the conversation,” Reid said in a statement.

“MSNBC viewers crave not only the facts, but also in-depth discussion and analysis from a range of perspectives,” said MSNBC president Phil Griffin. “There is no one better equipped than Joy to lead this new project, and create a place for the kind of unique discussion our audience has come to expect.”

Reid had her own show The Reid Report that was cancelled in 2015, but her new show debuts on May 7.

As HELLO BEAUTIFUL previously reported, MPH had a nasty fallout with the network, walking away from her Nerdland post accusing the network of hijacking in what she felt was racist and neglectful treatment of her progressive show.

In an email to her staff, MPH wrote that she was not “a token” or “a mammy.”  “Our show was taken — without comment or discussion or notice — in the midst of an election season. After four years of building an audience, developing a brand and developing trust with our viewers, we were effectively and utterly silenced,” she said.

There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two women as they were recently seen at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner on Saturday night. Not to mention, Harris-Perry was named Editor-At-Large for Elle.com a few weeks ago, where Reid was included in Harris-Perry’s roundup about the impact of Beyonce’s new album Lemonade.

Translation: They cool.

And people are here for Reid’s new venture:

Congrats Joy!
