Who would ever miss an opportunity to take one of the most beautiful women in the world out on a date? According to Lupita Nyong’o, her high school prom date stood her up!
“There was this guy in my neighborhood that I thought was so cute, and I gathered up the guts to ask him to prom,” she shared during an interview with Seth Meyers. “I didn’t talk to him much at all, but I asked him to prom… And he was like ‘Sure, sure, sure.'”
“I told him what the color scheme was, because I was designing my own dress and everything… I think it scared him, because I was gonna wear red and yellow,” she said. “Maybe he didn’t have a red suit. But he didn’t show up.”
We bet that guy regrets his decision! He was probably all in Lupita’s DMs (direct messages) on the ‘gram as soon as the show aired! We’re glad the Oscar award winning spokesmodel got the last laugh!
