Local police and the FBI are trying to make sense of a random mass shooting that began at approximately 5pm on Thursday, February 25th in Hesston, Kansas.

According to reports, Cedric Ford, is responsible for the deaths of between three and seven employees at the lawn mower manufacture, Excel Industries. Ford was employed as a painter and according to his co-workers, he was a relatively “nice guy”.

Here are the details of his rampage according to the NY Daily NewsThere were at least four or five crime scenes…Ford shot at least two people in cars as he drove towards Excel, then shot another person in a parking lot outside the lawn mowing manufacturer before bursting into the building and opening fire.”

A total of six patients have been taken to the Via Christi Clinic in Wichita, according to a reporter at KWCH-TV. Two of those victims are in serious condition and another is in fair condition.

Another 20 people have reported injuries as a result of the attack.

Ford, who was shot and killed by police at the crime scene gave insight into his depressive thoughts on his Facebook page. “It’s so hurtful when you have no one to talk to about your problems” he posted.

The 38-year-old was a gun enthusiast who frequently posted photos of himself with rifles, handguns and shotguns. While it’s unknown if the shootings were premeditated or if he was planning to commit suicide, Ford also posted on Facebook that he was “feeling fed up.”

According to Heavy, Ford has an extensive rap sheet. The Miami native’s convictions in Florida included fleeing from police, battery and grand theft. He was arrested on December 17, 2010 in Hesston, Kansas. At that time his charges included: parole violation, domestic battery, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, traffic violations and theft.

Ford is survived by his son and daughter who according to his Facebook page are both under the age of 10.
