If you’ve been anxiously contemplating when and how Beyoncé‘s next album will be released, wonder no more… or at least know the reason for the delay.
According to sources close to Queen Bey, her sixth solo studio has been ready since the end of last year, but was postponed because of the force that is Adele. That’s right, Mrs. Carter allegedly wanted to wait until the British songstress’ “moment” had passed from 25.
“Beyonce doesn’t have the pressure of releasing an album and is doing bits here and there because she and her team know it is Adele’s time to shine,” a source allegedly told The Sun. “The last few months have been all about her comeback.”
Adele’s third studio album was the No.1 album in the UK for 2015, sold 7.6 million copies in U.S. and went 8 times platinum. And while it’s still selling, the hype has lessened since 2016 began.
“Now [that] Adele’s sales are starting to die down, Beyoncé is ready to drop her album at any time. But there’s a very strong chance the announcement could happen during the Super Bowl next month,” the insider added.
Here’s the deal: We’re not totally sure if this is true.
Note that this is coming from the same place that claimed Beyoncé was developing a Saartjie Baartman film. And if she were in any way threatened by Adele’s success, which is what they’re implying with this story, it’s a smart business move.
No one wants to be outshined by another talented artist.
And after waiting two years for Bey’s next project, we’ll take it any way she chooses to deliver.
