The day after famed comedian Bill Cosby was charged and arranged with the second degree sexual assault of Andrea Constand, his lawyer, Monique Pressleywent on CBS This Morning defending her client, claiming that Cosby did not drug or rape anyone.

When asked how will she defend Cosby who has admitted to buying quaaludes to “use on women” in court, Pressley replied, “Why would we have to defend that in court? That’s an admission he makes about offering quaaludes to two specific individuals in the 1970s.”

She added, “It’s not even something that could be obtained and I’m certain — even this hungry DA trying to keep a campaign promise – isn’t going to assert that Mr. Cosby has had hiding somewhere in his medicine cabinet Quaaludes that are 30, 40, almost 50 years old.”

Pressley also denies the heavily touted stat that more than 50 women have come forward accusing Cosby of sexual assault.

“Someone saying that he rubbed against them or the front of their breasts at a party is not the same thing as saying they were in an ongoing consensual relationship and then one evening after multiple interactions, I believed I was drugged. Those are not the same things,” she stated.

When told that she must be prepared for the other allegations of sexual misconduct to be brought into the Constand case to establish a pattern, she replied, “Those are all allegations for which there is no corroborating evidence and these are allegations from decades ago. Allegations from women who never bothered to go in and make a complaint to police and in most instances claim that they didn’t tell another living soul.”

She added, “If a judge chooses to consider such testimony, then we will deal with that at that time.”

While in the past year, dozens of women have come forward accusing Cosby of assaulting them, this is the first criminal charge that has been brought against the comedian. Cosby, looking visibly shaken and walking on a cane when turning himself in earlier this week, quickly posted bail on Wednesday. His next court hearing will be on January 14.

Meanwhile on Jan 4, Camille Cosby must give a deposition in a defamation civil suit filed against her husband by seven women in Massachusetts. Last month, Cosby’s lawyers tried to block the subpoena for Mrs. Cosby’s testimony, claiming it would undermine spousal privilege and that she has no knowledge about her husband’s alleged treatment of other women. But a judge recently ruled against the Cosbys, giving the women’s lawyers leeway to ask any questions they want, says the New York Times.

Cosby’s lawyers said that they will file an appeal against the judge’s ruling.
