Bill Cosby has called out supermodel Beverly Johnson in a defamation lawsuit, claiming she’s using her accusations against him to stage a comeback.
The comedian has been under fire since last year, when dozens of women began to step forward alleging that Bill had sexually assaulted them years ago.
Among them was supermodel Beverly Johnson, who claimed that the Cosby Show star had drugged and assaulted her during a private dinner in the ’80s. She’s spoken about the experience to Vanity Fair, Good Morning America, and other media outlets.
Now, TMZ.com reports that Bill filed suit against her today in Los Angeles for defamation of character. Court documents state that he never dined alone with Beverly because his wife, Camille, was there.
He states that she’s dragging his name through the mud and her accusations are “false, malicious, opportunistic and defamatory.” In his opinion, the only reason she’s speaking up now is to become relevant again.
