Fatima Robinson, the woman behind The Wiz Live!, is getting her own show on NBC.

After working her Black Girl Magic on The Wiz Live! and casting a spell with the moves she mapped out for the show, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are looking to focus on Fatima for their next big project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zadan and Neil are working on a series based on Fatima’s life that will take place in Los Angeles. It will have a bit of a throwback feel since the as-yet untitled show is set in the ’90s at the point where dance starts to make its way from the club to pop culture.

Having worked with Fatima so often, Zadan and Neil knew that her story was perfect for the show.

“We worked with her on the Oscars and knew she was special. We hired Fatima Robinson, who is not a Broadway choreographer, to do authentic black dancing,” Zadan told THR. “She comes from hip-hop and a lot of her point of view on dance is very gritty and authentic and raw.”

The show is still in search of a writer. Fatima will executive produce alongside Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. As expected, she’ll also be choreographing for the series, so just expect some visual awesomeness every week.
