Whoa, this is kind of a low blow! Whomever is in charge of the social media for Billboard should be fired.

The music publication posted a photo of Kim K. and North West. The baby has her tongue out, while holding a lollipop. The caption on the photo reads, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

Social media immediately critiqued the site for attempting to hyper sexualize North and compare the infant to her mother, who we all know rose to fame following her sex tape with Ray-J.

Billboard has since deleted the post. “We apologize for the tweet involving North West. The caption was about her comments to paparazzi. The suggestion some see was not intended.”

Apparently, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” was referring to Kanye West and baby North’s shared disinterest in paparazzi after she recent told photographers, “…No pictures” outside of her ballet class.

The new tweet (with the same suggestive photo) by the magazine now reads, “North West is already pretty sassy (but in a cute way.)” We never thought we’d see the day when so many people come to the defense of Kim…or technically to protect the innocence of North West. Despite her mother’s salacious past, North should be treated as an individual who will hopefully make different decisions when she is of age.

Do you think Billboard’s initial tweet was inappropriate or are people just over reacting?
