A Chicago family wants the All Things Are Possible for Kids daycare shut down after their baby girl was reportedly locked inside of the dark facility alone on Monday evening.

According to ABC7 Chicago, Cornelius Jones says he arrived at the daycare to pick up his daughter Journee, only to find the facility closed. He flagged down police after hearing his daughter’s cries. Firefighters and officers worked together to break open the door as the father recorded the moment on his phone.

After authorities entered, they found Journee crying and crawling in the dark.

ABC7 Chicago reports:

“It was pitch black and like, the police had flashlight down and the only thing I could see was my baby crawling on the floor,” Jones said. One-year-old Journee was alone, crawling and crying. “It was dramatic feeling. I didn’t know what to feel like, my heart dropped. I was just glad she was okay,” Jones said.

Thankfully, Journee was unharmed. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the incident and the facility hasn’t officially responded to reports.

Journee’s mother, Quanesha Borum, told ABC News employees said they thought her daughter was a doll. They also said there were workers inside the daycare when the child was found, but the video doesn’t support their claim.

The couple plans to stay home from work to care for their child. They do not plan to place Journee in another daycare.
