You know how us fans of the actual X-Men comics are always nitpicking leaked details from the movies in search for clues for what they may actually use from the comics for future story lines, right?

So…fans of Storm who know how dope the character is in the comicsdespite Hollywood’s suspect casting choicesare wondering if a photo posted by director Bryan Singer with a caption that read, “Tip toeing through ruined #Cairo #1983,” means that we could be getting more of Storm’s back story in this next film (which would hopefully lead to a series).

Check it out:

Next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse will reintroduce popular characters like Storm and Cyclops, but this photo suggests that we could be getting more of some of those characters’ authentic comic book story lines.

The speculation about Storm takes front and center because in Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men comic book series, Cairo was was where Professor Xavier first discovered Storm as a street thief. She is also returns to Cairo on several occasions throughout the years, so we could be in for a treat. Another reason this theory is front and center is because we know the Black Panther movie is also coming soon. Storm and Black Panther eventually get married…and divorced…so why not milk this to keep more movies and spinoffs going?

Again, this is only nerdy speculation. We’ll all just have to wait and see. The other thing about this is, I am concerned about the casting choice for Storm. Remember Alexander Shipp, the girl who played Aaliyah in that oft-dragged Lifetime biopic? She has been chosen to play the role. She’s a fairly new actress (also see Drumline 2), and hasn’t been too impressive yet (but it could be more due to the movies and not her acting). Hopefully this will be where she shows and proves, because the only way for a Storm origins story to truly develop into a full on spinoff (a la Wolverine) is if the actress carrying the role is strong.

Fingers crossed, because Storm’s storyline is definitely one of the strongest strongest character arcs in the comics.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be released May 2016.
