Black Twitter is a force that many still don’t quite understand. And indeed, because of how dynamic it is, and how it does not constitute our traditional understanding of an organization, it may sometimes confuse people who are on the outside of it, looking in.

That said, Black Twitter is a force to be reckoned with. It informs, it politicizes, it reacts, and it is here for issues concerning Black people in the United States and beyond. From Black Twitter, certain people have emerged as always being on the front lines of the most relevant issues – and are people you can trust to give you the details. Some are writers, while others are activists. Some focus on specific issues such as police brutality or Black women’s sociopolitical concerns, while some are involved in a plethora of public conversations involving race.
