Kylie Jenner thought it would be really cute to weave some cornrows into her hair, but Amandla Stenberg had to let her know it was not a good look.

The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan showed off her new ‘do, and she seemed pretty proud of her braids. Surely expecting to soak up lots of praise and compliments, she probably wasn’t expecting to be reminded that the style comes with some extra responsibility for her.

In a throwback to her incredibly viral class project, Amandla called Kylie out for her cultural appropriation via her latest look and looped in the recent #WhiteGirlsDoItBetter hashtag.

In Kylie’s comment section, Amandla wrote:

“When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter.”

Well! Amandla should have dropped the mic (or the mouse) after that one.

And you just gotta love how Kylie’s presenting her braids like it’s something new. Not like Black girls haven’t been wearing them for centuries or anything.
