Cynthia Bailey isn’t the least bit worried about the fate of the Real Housewives of Atlanta now that NeNe Leakes has decided to exit the show. When E! caught up with the model at the Essence Music Festival, she stated, “Well the show has never been about one person. It’s just not what makes it work.”

As Cynthia sees it, grand exits are just part of the nature of the show, and she doesn’t think the show will be lacking anything with her former BFF’s absence. “Sometimes you gotta change it up and mix it up. I look forward to a really great drama-filled season,” said Cynthia.

Perhaps she’s so calm about the news because she saw this coming. Cynthia shared:

“You know, I wasn’t super surprised because I used to be very close with NeNe so I knew that at some point, she wanted to do other things and rightfully so because I think she has had a great run on the show. In my opinion, she will always be the original Atlanta Housewife and I wish her well.”

Cynthia wouldn’t say for sure who would be joining the show, but there are whispers that Kim Fields and Drew Sidora may be getting their own peaches. Whoever does join the cast, though, Cynthia hopes that they’ll be able to breathe some new life into the franchise.

“I am just excited for someone to come in who is a spit fire, someone who is not just gonna come in and check things out,” she dished. “I don’t know who yet but whoever you are, please audition for the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ We need you!”
