Kendrick Lamar Drops Provocative Visuals For “Alright”

A lot of Kendrick Lamar’s music is reflective of what’s going on in America, but lately, he has been really focused on the egregious racism that has been surfacing, from police shootings to the Charleston church massacre.

His latest video for “Alright”, directed by Colin Tilley, is more like a short film that echoes the song’s message. It’s a stark portrayal of police relations with Black America, and the end gets quite real.

Big Sean Gets Nostalgic With New Video

Big Sean brought the 90s back for a hot second by channeling Martin in his new video for, “Play No Games” ft. Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign. Director Mike Carson did a thorough job emulating the visuals to a T. Even “Tommy” looked like the real Thomas Mikal Ford. The song is cool, but the video takes the cake.

Jason Derulo Channels Michael Jackson in “Cheyenne”

Jason Derulo tapped into his inner Michael Jackson for “Cheyenne.” The 80’s-inspired track finds the Miami-native musing over his female lover while the video serves up a little of MJ’s “Ghosts.”  I’m so not mad at any of this.

Blitz The Ambassador Reminds The Diaspora Of The Power Of Our Ancestors

Blitz the Ambassador is based in Brooklyn, but he’s always repping for his hometown, Accra, Ghana and bridging the gap between hip-hop and highlife. His newest video for “Shine,” features stunning imagery related to immigrant struggles in the United States. However, the video, directed by Blitz, also serves as a reminder to the entire African diaspora, that our ancestors are our angels, and they have our backs even in the most trying of times, so stay true and keep shining (See what I did there?).

How cute was that little girl?

Anyway, Blitz is gearing up to release his next album, Diasporadical.
