A lot of Americans hate their jobs, but people on the East Coast seem to be the most unhappy, reports NY Daily News.
Monster.com and research firm BrandWatch found that people on the west coast have more happy days at work than those on the east by analyzing tweets for a year.
Hawaii, Utah, Oregon, California, Washington, Minnesota, Nevada, Maine, Arkansas and Idaho were among the states with the happiest tweets. The unhappiest employees live in Maryland, Louisiana, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia and Florida. (I’m definitely surprised that New York State isn’t on that list.)
Westside employees seemed to be listed more so as engineers, designers and advertisers, while east coasters were more likely to be doing data analysis, accounting, and janitorial work. In other words, the latter group were more likely to be doing slower jobs that required little creativity or action.
