Black Terrorist Suspect Gunned Down By Boston Police, Brother Offers Alternate Account

This first story that’s making headlines sounds like a plot straight out of American Crime. Yesterday evening, a terrorism suspect was arrested by the FBI just hours after Boston police gunned down his affiliate, Usaama Rahim, a 26-year-old man presumed to be following the teachings of ISIS. Police say that Rahim approached them while brandishing a military knife. However, Rahim’s brother, Ibrahim Rahim, has responded claiming that his brother was on the phone with his father and commuting to work at the time of the shooting. Boko Haram Suicide Bomber Killed 20 To 50 People in Nigeria on Tuesday

Boko Haram strikes again. The terrorist group made another attack in Nigeria’s northeast where a man posing as a salesman unleashed a bomb in a Maidguguri slaughterhouse. Maiduguru, the capital of Borno, is the largest city in the area. Citizens also claim that gunfire and grenades were going off throughout the morning. This comes only days after another attack occurred close to the regional airport on Saturday where approximately 10 people were murdered. Read the full story at the New York Times.

Love Locks Taken Down From Paris Bridge

Forty-five tons of padlocks have been taken down from Paris’s Pont des Arts, much to the dismay of many tourists and sentimentalists. For years, lovers have come to bridge to affix padlocks etched with their initials as a symbol of their eternal love, throwing attached keys into the water below. Now the city has had to discard the padlocks because of the resulting damage to the bridge’s ironwork and the risk of having locks fall and crash on the boats passing under the water. CIA Accused Of Sexual Abuse By Al-Qaeda Detainee

ISIS isn’t the only group terrorizing people, says one Al-Qaeda prisoner. Majid Khan, a detainee-turned-government witness being held at Guantanamo Bay says that he was tortured by interviewees. Some of the charges include him being videotaped while naked, having ice-water poured on his genitals and being threatened with beatings using hammers and belts. The CIA denies the sexual abuse; only part of the investigation in this case has been made available to the public. Khan’s attorneys are now trying to get him moved to the US federal court for sentencing where a judge may be more flexible than a military proceeding. Check out the full story at Reuters.

Mike Huckabee Jests About Posing As Transgender To Get Into Girls’s Locker Room

Huckabee is getting all the side-eye this morning. While speaking at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention earlier this year, Huckabee said: “I wish that someone told me that when I was in high school that I could have felt like a woman when it came time to take showers in PE. I’m pretty sure that I would have found my feminine side and said, ‘Coach, I think I’d rather shower with the girls today.’” Huckabee’s comments got even worse, suggesting that transgender people were a threat to children in public restrooms. Once again, I feel like we all just made a major time hop just reading what this fool had to say. Read the whole story at the Los Angeles Times.
