It’s possible that Cookie may have become Taraji’s new iconic role. Up until last this year, people were always associating her with her “Baby Boy” character Yvette. That changed as soon as “Empire” premiered and she sashayed out of prison to rule your Wednesday nights.

People watch every week to see what Cookie’s wearing, and they’re eagerly awaiting her next shade-laden one liner. You didn’t want to miss a thing she did because you knew everyone was going to be quoting her all week!

Pop culture loves itself some Cookie, but Taraji can’t say the same.

“No, I hate that b*tch! She’s stolen my identity!” Taraji told Seth Meyer on “The Late Late Show.”

Taraji plays that role so well, people have a hard time separating the actress from the character. Sharing that people don’t even recognize Cookie as a role she plays, Taraji said, “No one ever calls me by my name anymore! They call me ‘Cookie.’”

At least they get her name right where it counts: the bank!
