Cosby Show alum Phylicia Rashad’s next TV role will be drastically different from her iconic portrayal of Clair Huxtable. For the first time in her career, she’ll be playing homosexual character named Georgina Howe, for the upcoming CBS thriller For Justice.

The show and Clair’s character are based on NYT Best-Selling author James Patterson‘s book the Thomas Berryman Number. In it, there is a female FBI agent for the Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division and she faces personal conflicts with her family and at work. Much of her storyline remains the same For Justice except that the character is reflected as LGBT.

The air date is not released yet but Variety confirmed that Golden Globe nominated Ava DuVernay will be directing the pilot. She’s an executive producer, along with Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Productions.
