With a kind of hip-hop soul beat, the song features Eric’s daughter Erica singing for the first time and a rap verse from Eric’s brother Steven Flagg, who produced the track on his record label. Included are also audible snippets of Al Sharpton’s eulogy at Eric’s funeral and the haunting last words of the 43-year-old who told the officers that fateful day in Staten Island “this ends today.”

The song’s lyrics are extremely touching:

“The pain in my heart still refuses to heal…Life should be protected if justice is real, do you know how we feel?” which is rapped by Flagg, and Erica who also gave some bars of her own with, “This time they took one of mine, that’s not what they’re supposed to do. Think about while I’m talking to you. Justice for all, not justice for one. That’s how this all begun…What was the circumstances of his death. Why couldn’t he take another breath?”
