Christmas came early this year for rapper Young Jeezy.  Orange County Deputy District Attorney Renee Jones requested for a judge to dismiss felony weapons charges against Jeezy on Dec. 11. Jones claimed there wasn’t enough evidence in the case to proceed against the Atlanta rapper according to the Associated Press. In August, Jeezy along with five others were arrested after police were searching for a gun used to kill a man backstage a concert Jeezy and Wiz Khalifa co-headlined days earlier in Irvine, Ca.

Police found an AK-47 and a Glock inside Jeezy’s tour bus and charged all six people including the rapper with felony possession of an illegal weapon. Here’s where things get a bit dicey. During the time of the search, police already knew the guns were legally purchased and owned by Jeezy’s security chief, and were inspected by authorities two days earlier who deduced they weren’t part of the fatal shooting death of Eric Johnson. Jeezy’s security chief bought the guns legally in Georgia however, it is illegal to have the weapons in California, which he was never charged for. During the time of Jeezy’s arrest, his security chief was recuperating the night before in the hospital from the attempted shooting of Suge Knight. Jeezy never attended the court proceedings but did speak out on Instagram remarking:

While my team and I always knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts, the rush to judgment by both the media and the police has been extremely disappointing.
