Sherri Shepherd is a little freaked out that her ex-husbands are teaming up and forming a little alliance.
The Cinderella star dropped by “The Wendy Williams Show,” but there wasn’t much that she could say about legal proceedings in her split from Lamar Sally or the abdication of her parental rights over their child, which was born via surrogate in July.
She was able to crack a couple of jokes about her exes and the effect that two divorces has had on her money. “When I found I didn’t have to pay alimony anymore to the first husband, I went and bought my first pair of Dior shoes,” she told Wendy Williams. “Now my second is trying to contest the prenup; I gotta take ‘em back!”
During their chat, Wendy dished that Lamar and her other ex-husband Jeff Tarpley have been getting friendly and they’ve established a cordial relationship. The whole thing makes Sherri a little uncomfortable
“That’s creepy! That’s nasty,” Sherri said before shading both of her exes by hinting that they might just be ganging up on her because they have nothing better to do. “ It’s like everybody is suing me, just ask me to be a reference on a job application, you don’t have to sue me. I don’t know why they’re talking.”
Right around the same time she announced her breakup with Lamar, it was revealed that Sherri would also be leaving “The View” after seven years on the show. So far she seems to be on much better terms with that show than Lamar because she tuned in for the season premiere on Monday.
“I watched ‘The View,’ and I have to say, I love the Hot Topics. I love when they get into it,” Sherri shared, admitting that she threw out some great lines (that no one heard) while watching. Getting out of a routine is hard!
The glowing review aside, Sherri doesn’t think that the show will be around much longer. “I think every ride has to end, and you have to be okay with getting off the ride. It has had a long run, so seven years? I think that’s pushing it. I think ‘Wendy’ will be here in seven years,” she stated, hinting that she’d be open to getting back into the chat game on her own terms. “I would love to have my own talk show, I think it would be so much fun.”
In the meantime, Sherri will just have to get her kicks by hanging out with Johnny Gill. There have been whispers that she’s dating the R&B crooner, but the funnylady shut all speculation down by stating that their relationship is pretty platonic.
“Johnny and I are really good friends because I am a New Edition groupie,” Sherri explained. “I go and see them everywhere. Johnny and I hang out every time I go to L.A., and Johnny was even going to go to court with me a few times.”
