HelloBeautiful.com’s “Base Level” column features the hottest new artists we’re buzzing about. Before they make it to the summit of superstardom, we spot them at base level–the beginning of their hopeful journey to the top.

It’s almost hard to believe that Amor Kismet are all sisters. One is equally as beautiful as the next and they can all sing, play instruments and charm you with their youthful demeanor. The Atlanta-based girl group combine live instruments for a refreshing and dynamic sound that played a hand in them winning a Billboard competition for unsigned artists. Did we mention they play the guitar and congas and also write music?!

The trio have been working with Jan “Mama J” Smith (Usher, Jill Scott) on vocal instruction and performed their first show outside of Atlanta at this year’s BET Experience, as they were chosen as one of the most promising new acts by the network. Just this month they started working more seriously in the studio with Bernard “BHarv” Harvey, a producer under Scooter Braun Management and are planning an EP release in the coming months.

Get the deets on Amor Kismet, below:

Name: Amor Kismet. It means love’s fate. There’s actually five of us, and all of us can sing, so we say it was love’s fate for our parents to get together. That’s how we came with the name.

Hometown: Atlanta

Who are your musical inspirations? We like Selina Cantenia Perez–the Spanish singer. We love the natural raw talent that she used to captivate her audience, so she’s one of our biggest influences and Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Sade, Bob Marley, Shania Twain. We listen to everything. All of that influences our music.

How Do You Describe your sound? A live feel. Each song caters to a different genre, like some songs may be more R&B, some songs may be more Pop, some songs, like, you never know what you’re going to get. You just know it’s going to be our voices with some instruments on it.

What has been your biggest break thus far? “Probably when we won the Bill Wordy billboard award. He was the former editor of Billboard. It was a big endorsement in the industry to have him on our side and even now he supports us a lot. That’s a big deal for us and also when we did the BET Experience live last month. That was pretty cool.

What did you guys learn from the BET Experience? You get free stuff [laughs]. We learned basically everyone’s different. Sometimes our songs may be live, but to cater to your audience, you may have to pull out something, a little trick out of the bag. You need to switch it up when needed because you don’t know your crowd.
