There’s something about the first day of New York Fashion Week that marks the mood for the entire week, and if my morning backstage at BCBG Max Azria was any indication, this is sure to be a beautiful one! The hair and makeup backstage evoked BCBG’s Spring/Summer 2015 theme: bohemian rhapsody. And, even though bronzer and brows were the first things I noticed, it was the models’ nails that surprised me the most. OPI manicurists were coating their nails, not with a bright hue or even a strip of nail art, but with OPI’s classic Bubblebath.

It’s no surprise that the pale pink has reemerged on Spring runways. The color is sheer and, as lead manicurist Miss Pop told me, it’s a great alternative to the nudes we’re used to seeing now. “It’s one of the most iconic colors in the OPI collection because…it’s a little white and a little pink,” she said. “It lightens and brightens every skin tone.” The color is also great because no matter how opaque or sheer you desire it to be, it’s appropriate for any occasion. Miss Pop’s advice? “I would wear it as opaque as possible. I like stacking it and giving it two good coats. Two is for really good wearing.”

Be sure to pick up a bottle or try it out the next time you see it at the salon!
