Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz wants to offer all of his employees (nationwide) to complete college so the newest perk the powers that be are offering full tuition reimbursement to complete a bachelor’s degree! *Runs to Starbucks.com to apply* Not so fast though–this offer doesn’t extend to any and every university. It only applies to courses at Arizona State University.

Starbucks announced today that they have created The Starbucks College Achievement Plan in an effort to close the gap in college achievement. So they teamed up with Arizona State University to provide all part- and full-time U.S. workers with the opportunity to receive reimbursement on tuition expenses for their junior and senior years of undergraduate education. The partnership is a way to help students across the country graduate from college without debt. Sadly, nearly half of all college students in the U.S. today fail to complete their degree, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
“There’s no doubt, the inequality within the country has created a situation where many Americans are being left behind. Everyone who works as hard as our partners do should have the opportunity to complete college, while balancing work, school and their personal lives,” Schultz said in a statement.

The Starbucks College Achievement Plan is also offering freshmen and sophomores partial tuition scholarships and need-based financial aid, as well as resources to help employees balance their work-life needs. Enrollment in the program begins Aug.15, and students can start online classes Oct.15. Starbucks will provide working students with a dedicated enrollment coach, financial aid counselor and academic adviser to support them through graduation. It sounds like Starbucks is the company to work for! These perks are a student’s dream!
So what are the requirements? All U.S. employees working an average of 20 hours per week at any company-operated store — including Teavana, La Boulange, Evolution Fresh and Seattle’s Best Coffee stores –are eligible to choose from more than 40 undergraduate degree programs at ASU, and they will earn full tuition reimbursement for each semester of full-time coursework completed. There is no obligation to stay at Starbucks or pay them back once you graduate.
