The Divine Nine is coming together to shut Mona Scott-Young down.

According to reports, Black Greek letter organizations aren’t too happy about the reality TV producer’s efforts to launch a new show titled “Sorority Sisters,” which follows members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho. A trailer for the project hit the web last week and now representatives from those organizations want it cancelled.

Their opposition resulted in the creation of the petition on MoveOn.org. “Stop the spread of ignorance and stereotyping of our beloved Black Greek letter organizations,” creator Reynoir Lewis posted. “Our founders amongst EVERY organization worked extremely hard to allow us to unite and flourish not only on college campuses, but as a people well beyond our college days, and Mona Scott-Young now threatens to demolish those aims and goals we all abide by.”

“If this show airs, we will boycott any and all advertisers affiliated with the show through commercial advertising, product placement and/or location use,” it added.

The petition, which as gained equal support from Black fraternities, has a goal of 7, 500 signatures. It has more than 6,000 names thus far.

Mona’s camp has yet to respond to the backlash, but clearly they are listening because the trailer has been removed from online streaming services.
