Nas is investing in the future by investing of our youth, and we’re giving him a pat on the back for it.
According to reports, the Grammy-nominated rapper teamed up with Koru, a Seattle-based company that works to ensure sure the up-and-coming workforce is prepared for the jobs that are out there. Nas invested over $100,000 in the nonprofit, establishing a scholarship to help grow the program grow in membership.

But, the “I Know I Can” performer didn’t just write a check. According to Forbes, Nasty Nas will also serve as a coach to the students, giving advice and sharing his wisdom from 20-plus years in entertainment industry.
“I’m inspired to support Koru participants because I know how hard it can be to carve out your path and purpose in life” he shared. “I can’t wait to work directly with them and share what I’ve learned through my own life experiences.”

The first two recipients of the Nas Scholarship Fund will be Marixa Rodriguez, an Occidental College class of 2014 graduate, and Steeve Simbert, a Georgetown University class of 2015 graduate.
