Chris Brown was taken into federal custody by U.S. Marshals today to be transferred to Washington, D.C, where the pre-trial for his misdemeanor assault case will take place.

Earlier this week, Breezy asked to travel on his own free will but a judge denied the request. Instead, he was taken to San Bernardino County jail, where he will board a federal “Con Air” prisoner aircraft en route to the nation’s capitol.

The troubled rapper, who’s been in a Los Angeles jail since March 14, has serious business to handle in D.C. You may recall he was arrested last October for fighting outside of the W Hotel (he’s accused of breaking another man’s nose), a big no-no for anyone on probation.

The pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 7, however if the charges are not dismissed, he will stay in a District of Columbia jail until the trial officially begins on April 17. If convicted, the “Don’t Judge Me” singer faces a maximum sentence of 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

Upon his return to California, Brown also has a probation violation hearing waiting for him. You know, for getting kicked out of rehab last month. Boy, oh, boy.
