Am I the only girl who loves nail polish? I have TONS of polishes. I mean, I have over 200 bottles sitting in huge bags on my bedroom floor that I need to figure out where to put. You might say that I have an obsession. But I kinda don’t care, and I refuse to call it that. I like to think of it more as my way to relax after those trying work days. I pull my nail mat out, I neatly place my napkins around, spread out my nails tools that I got from Duane Reade and I take my time and neatly polish my nails. I’ve really gotten good at it too (but don’t ask me to do your nails, I am a writer not a nail tech)!
CND sent over their new CND Vinylux to try out. I was kinda geeked but I had just broke my nail (down to the darn white meat), so it took me a little longer to do this than I planned.
So what is Vinylux, anyways?
VINYLUX™ is a breakthrough polish system that endures a week of fashion perfection…without a base coat! Exposure to natural light secures the patent-pending technology, creating an enduring, long-lasting polish. While ordinary polishes become brittle and deteriorate over time, VINYLUX dries naturally to a flawless finish and strengthens its resistance to chips over time.
I put the system to test during NYFW. I even wash dishes and scrubbed everything in my bathroom down. I wanted to see what happened to the polish in extreme water conditions.
A week later and guess what…no chipping, no reapplying! Not only did it last the entire seven days, but I swear my nails grew an inch! No lie. I adore this system, it’s probably one of the best that I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot of freaking polishes that claimed to do a lot of freaking stuff.
A product that does what it says it will do = #WINNING. Thanks CND!
MORE ON STYLE & BEAUTY:
1. The Best In Beauty Box Subscriptions
No one really knows who invented this monster idea of box subscriptions. Perhaps it came about once the fashion and beauty industry realized that in order to stay above ground during the recession, it had to reinvent itself. What better way than to create a monthly subscription service offering some sort of discount on a group of products we love and think we need. Let's examine a few of my favorites!
2. CURL BOX
Many naturalistas swear by this subscription. Some sit patiently in front of their laptops each month because they know there's a limited amount and it will sell out immediately. The Curl Box is a new naturalistas solution to finding the right products for her natural hair. For $20/month you can try samples of tons of products.
3. Glossy Box
This box is filled with luxe products. From fancy perfumes to the best in body lotion
4. BIRCH BOX
One of the first that I can remember on the market. For $10/month you get a little bit of everything in beauty. From high-end beauty brands (like Kerastase), to more common brand from in your local Sephora (like Stila), to even a few newbie beauty brands--Birch Box has changed how the consumer purchases
Curated by beauty's top Youtube Bloggers with a monthly theme, an IPSY subscription gets you 4 to 5 beauty products in a collectible makeup bag. The best part about this subscription might just be the makeup bag and the video tutorials on how to create each look.
7. BEAUTY ARMY
Once you complete the online beauty questionnaire, you get to hand-pick your samples. Brands have to actually apply to be a part of Beauty Army, so you can probably bank on getting the best of the best.
If you're an eco-beautinista, Goodebox is your source for sampling healthy sustainable beauty products. Each month, an expert curates a top-notch selection of six to seven trial-size green products.
