I remember when I was 4-years-old and I made dresses with my mother, well maybe I was ten. But the difference between little Mayhem (that’s what her mom calls her on Instagram) and I is that this adorable little girl has not only duplicated some of our favorite red carpet style moments, but with paper and tape! Amazing right?!
Huffington Post interviewed Mayhem’s mom, Angie, and she revealed that it’s a team effort.
The ideas are pretty much a 50/50 split, but Mayhem constructs a lot more than most people would probably believe. That’s one of the best things about this project, I see her learning new skills every single day. At this point, she knows exactly how many sheets of construction paper she needs to make herself a top and a bottom. She can lay the entire thing out and tape it together all by herself. Definitely, the more complex designs have more of my time invested, but she’s literally always beside me learning something new if she’s not tearing or taping or gluing while I am.
The duo uses mostly construction paper and tissue paper to pull off these designs. But it’s Mayhem’s infectious personality that shines through in these photos.
It’s clear this little 4-year-old has a bright future as an internationally known designer or our next contestant on “America’s Next Top Model.”
1. 7 Absurdly Gorgeous Gowns Lupita Nyong'o Could Wear To The Oscars
With every red carpet appearance I fall more in love with this year's breakout starlet, Lupita Nyong'o. She has officially set a stellar style standard with her red capped Ralph Lauren gown and her gorgeous strapless emerald green Christian Dior gown. Can she trump her best red carpet looks? Here's seven absurdly gorgeous gowns that we think Lupita could wear to the Oscars.
2. Monique Lhuillier Spring 2014
Because Lupita is not afraid of color, this hot fuchsia tube top and fiery red maxi skirt would be a perfect stunner for the Oscars.
3. Jenny Packham Spring 2014
With Lupita's smooth flawless brown skin, the Jenny Packham chartreuse pleated gown would be perfect.
4. Carolina Herrera Fall 2014
I don't think we will ever see Lupita in black but the structure (and the bow belt) is perfect for her petite frame.
5. Christian Siriano Fall 2014
In the spirit of her capped Ralph Lauren gown, this Christian Sirano black gown with a capped peplum is just everything that dreams are made of.
6. Elie Saab Spring 2014
I don't think Lupita would wear a knee-length cocktail dress to the Oscars BUT I absolutely adore this color and she would slay it.
7. Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014
The illusion of sheer and nude is very popular on the red carpets this season. Lupita would turn many heads with this gown.
8. Naeem Khan Spring 2014
One of the hottest color trends this season just happens to be winter white, and we all know this color is just right for Lupita to wear to the Oscars.
