Name: Nicole Chaplin

Occupation: Fitness Enthusiast, Celebrity Trainer, Author, Model and Owner of Kairos Nexus Fitness Boutique NYC

Hello Beautiful: How did you get into fitness?

Nicole Chaplin: I live in NYC now, but I am from Miami, FL and the weather is always warm. Being outside came naturally so roller skating, bike riding and exercising was a way of life down there and it became a lifestyle for me from an early age.

HB: Describe your day to day life as a fitness expert?

NC: My day to day life varies from training clients, scheduling workouts for myself and them, touring with my book YES MAM!, which includes speaking engagements, modeling shoots and traveling the globe because it’s a passion of mine to see the world. My next stop is Israel and Australia.

HB: If you could give a person trying to adopt a healthy lifestyle one piece of advice what would it be?

NC: One piece of advice I would share is everyday write down your goal(s) of what you want to accomplish that day in regards to your health and honestly do everything in your power to obtain them one step at a time. Throughout the day re-read your goals and make choices that will lead you to accomplishing them.

HB: What helps you reach success each and every day?

NC: My faith helps me reach success daily. I believe God is always a thought or prayer away and I try my best to remember that. I also have a wonderful Mom and set of friends that I talk to who inspire and uplift me. With their positive energy, it keeps me going.

HB: What are some of the challenges you face being a fitness expert?

NC: The biggest challenge is TIME TIME TIME. I want to do it all. I want to help as many people as I can and sometimes the balance of squeezing it all in becomes tricky because I can do it all, but I can not do it all at once. The art of saying “no” is something I am working on but I know it’s necessary to sometimes say no and not feel bad about it when I do.

HB: What would you contribute your level of success to?

NC: I would contribute my level of success to being happy and having a strong church that I attend, amazing clients, a mom who is golden and a bright outlook on life. No matter what happens to me I look at the glass half full. In YES MAM, I discuss how life can drag you down at times but the way you see things determines if you are going to be a victim or victor. The name Nicole is of Greek origin and means “victorious people.” That means I am going to win as long as I believe in me and I do.
