Forest Whitaker has had a banner year with the release of two films: “The Butler,” “Fruitvale Station,” the forthcoming holiday flick “Black Nativity” and will continue his stronghold on the box office with “Repentance,” a gritty film that boasts an impressive lineup. Anthony Mackie, Mike Epps, Sanaa Lathan and Nicole Ari Parker join Whitaker in the Philippe Caland-directed film.

“Repentance” is a dark tale that follows Thomas Carter (Anthony Mackie) after he reinvented himself as a therapist/spiritual advisor years following a drunken car crash that almost took his life. When Carter takes on Sanchez as a personal client in an effort to raise funds for his indebted brother Ben (Mike Epps), things quickly take a turn for the worse. Angel needs much more than a simple life coach.

Check out the trailer above, and let us know if you’ll be headed to the theater February 28, 2014 to see it!
