Daddy’s little girl Vanessa Simmons is expecting her first child with boyfriend Michael Wayans. Although the 30-year-old reality star and designer was thrilled to find out the baby news, she says telling her father Rev. Run was not so easy.

“I was so nervous telling my dad at first being that I’m not married yet,” the mom-to-be revealed during an interview with Us Weekly. “But he was very excited and is supportive 100 percent.”

She went on to say her dad is “anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new baby girl” because this will be the first grandchild in the family.

“I think somewhere deep inside he was kinda like, ‘When am I going to experience that part of life?’ Of course he wants us to get married, but for now he was like, ‘We’re gonna figure this out. Just be happy and have a healthy pregnancy,'” she told Essence.

Although wedding bells may be in the near future, Vanessa said she wants to wait until after she has the baby.

“Of course we talk about that [marriage] and it’s looking good. But I don’t want to be a pregnant bride. I wanna have a beautiful wedding, hopefully a destination wedding where I can show off my figure in a beautiful long flowing dress,” she said.

And as far as baby names, the expecting mother said she’s still trying to pick the perfect one for her “little princess.”

“I’m stumped thinking of little girl names,” she said. “But I’m excited because little girl clothes are amazing and I’m the girliest girl ever!”

Simmons and 28-year-old Michael, the son of comedian Damon Wayans, have been dating for eight years.
