Bronx, New York native Shaliek, is influenced by classic musicians like Stevie Wonder and Donnie Hathaway, hence his nostalgic and pure sound. His old school passion is mellowed off by sprinkles of inspiration from newcomers like Miguel and Bruno Mars. The combination makes Shaliek the ultimate artist.

Shaliek has won “Showtime At The Apollo” on numerous occasions and his video is on regular spin on the Centric network. He’s ranked among charts on WBLS New York, SIRIUSXM Heart & Soul, Music Choice R&B.

Shaliek’s had his share of set backs, but with a positive attitude led by drive, he won’t be settling for anything but music anytime soon!

Get the basics on Shaliek:

Age:  As a courtesy to the Interactive One viewers I will tell my biggest secret to you guys. My age is 27. SHHHHH Don’t tell anyone SHHHHHHH.

Hometown:  I’m proud to say I’m a native New Yorker.  Born and reared in the Burrough of the Bronx.

Musical inspirations? I’m an old head and I like all kinds of music but I favor Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke and Donnie Hathaway.  Currently on my play list I enjoy Miguel , Cee Lo Green Bruno Mars and Whitney Houston

Biggest break thus far?  My biggest break was having the ability to weather the storms of disappointment that comes with the music industry. Everyday I’m thankful for whats coming my way now.  This CD Blood Sweat Tears tells the story of my struggle.  Take a listen and you will understand where my biggest breaks have come.

Biggest fear as a new artist: No time for the fear factor I’m just moving forward with the good energy around me.  As long as I stay in the game I’m gonna win

When did you know this is what you wanted to do?  I knew that I wanted to be apart of music and entertainment at an early age.  I think around 8 or 9 years old.  My grandfather has been one the biggest influences musically.  He played all kinds of music therefore I had no alternative but to listen, learn and absorb.

If you were the love child of two musicians–dead or alive–who would they be? Anita Baker and Sam Cooke
