Who is S.H.E.? She Helps Empower. Thanks to Claudia Chan, women have been gathering over the past two years to educate, connect, inspire and support other women by offering an extensive series of panels, keynote sessions, cocktail hours and a culminating S.H.E. Summit. This year’s conference featured Lubov Azria of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP, Joi Gordon of Dress for Success, Carol Hymowitz of Bloomberg News and more amazing women who are at the top of their game!
Chan spent 12 years working as an entrepreneur in the media and decided that she wanted to use her incredible connects, media experience and passion for empowering women to create the S.H.E. Summit. Chan claims that she is on a mission to motivate women to dream big and achieve them by connecting inspirational women. Sadly and embarrassingly enough, I missed the S.H.E. Summit. And in case you did too, here’s some of the reasons this summit is not to be missed!
The two-day event is peppered with activities you wouldn’t normally find at your run-of-the-mill business gathering like meditations, dance breaks and “random acts of play,” as Chan calls them. Instead of twiddling your thumbs or Instagramming between sessions, Chan encourages women to network with fun ice breakers, like describing your favorite childhood toy to your neighbor. Once the talks wrap up, the DJ turns up the tunes and drinks flow!
