The first time I played with the natural cosmetics line, Becca Cosmetics was in a Duane Reade drug store two years ago. A little slow to reveal my findings yes, but at least I remembered how struck I was  with how pigmented the colors were – a huge deal for a woman with a deep skin tone.

Armed with the knowledge that Becca’s shade offerings from foundation, eye, lip & cheek was pretty comprehensive, I felt confident calling in a favor to get my wish list of products sent my way.

Why the favor? Because I was prepping for an on-camera gig down in the great  ATL – Atlanta for the rest of ya’ll, and I wanted to look my absolute best and I knew Becca had the goods to deliver vibrant color on and off camera.

I thought my oily skin would be the death of me because it’s hard keeping it matte or at least slightly less oily-looking, especially under bright lights and under the pressure of having to perform.

Since my cheeks are the most troublesome area on my face because of the high oil content, blush virtually disappears after a few hours, so I thought the best way to get around fading makeup was to use a tint and Becca Cosmetics Beach Tint Water-Resistant Colour for Cheeks and Lips ($25, beccacosmetics.com) fit the bill. Once I applied the Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector ($36, beccacosmetics.com) I applied the tint and layered it with It Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Flush in Matte Sweet Apple  ($24, itcosmetics.com & QVC.com) (another cheek stain, but this one is infused with powder) on top for absolute staying power.

This is the first and certainly won’t be the last time Becca gets some lovin’ from me because I thoroughly enjoyed the application process of all of the products I used – even down to the lip color, but that ‘ll be separate post altogether.
