Interview by: Danielle Young

Fantasia Barrino demanded an apology from JET Magazine. And, she got it! The 62-year-old publication, known for its early role in the Civil Rights Movement, featured the “American Idol” on the cover of their March 2013 issue. The photo they used on the cover, however was 10-years-old. Fantasia, upset and rightly so, expressed her frustrations on social media.

“”I WANT A PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM JET. Now im not sure if the interview is correct. SEE!! American they and use me as they crash Dummy BUT NO MORE. IF I DONT STAND FOR SOMETHING ILL FALL FOR ANYTHING,” she barked.

Jet was in the wrong, but instead of owning up to it, Editor-in-Chief Mitzi Miller took to her Facebook page to vent, saying: “The fact that I wasted an hour of my workday writing a press release to address an issue created by a person who cannot even read it is just… #whyiwannaBahousewife.”

Her comments were simply rude and uncalled for. Mitzi later issued this apology to ENews:

“I apologize for the lack of sensitivity shown in my Facebook post. It was a thoughtless comment made during a moment of frustration. It was unprofessional and not representative of the JET mission, which is to uplift. I regret letting my emotions get the best of me. I am truly apologetic.”

Fantasia told us, she accepts her apology! With the release of her latest album, “Side Effects Of You,” Fantasia’s faced with a transformation. Her mind, body and soul have all gone through a period of growth that’s led Fantasia to her the biggest win she’s ever had in her life. Yes, bigger than “American Idol,” bigger than landing the role of Celie in “The Color Purple” on Broadway and bigger than her illustrious Grammy win. She’s won when it comes to her beautiful children, her amazing home and continues to win because she’s found peace. Check out Fantasia debunking all of the rumors that swirl around her and claiming her piece of her own peace!
