“As a comedian, Academy award-winning actor and Grammy award-winning artist, Jamie Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we’ve seen in a long time,” MTV President Stephen Friedman said in a statement. “Jamie has captivated audiences for nearly two decades with a dizzying array of memorable performances, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate him at this year’s Movie Awards.”

It’s been a big year for Foxx; he’s nominated for four Movie Awards, including Best Male Performance, Best Fight, Best Kiss and Best WTF Moment for his work in Django Unchained.

In related news, the Quentin Tarantino slavery-revenge film was pulled from Chinese movie theaters today. According to reports, the Chinese version of Django Unchained was edited to appease the country’s censor standards but there were some unspecified technical problems.

The Chinese office of Sony Pictures has yet to release a reason on why the film was suspended.
