Hollywood funny woman, Kym Whitley just scored a new reality show, “Raising Whitley.” The show will follow the “Next Friday” actress as she cares for her adopted son Joshua. It will premiere on Oprah Winfrey‘s OWN Network on April 20 at 10pm ET, and will be the lead-in to La Toya Jackson‘s reality show, “Life With La Toya.”

The trailer is such a tear-jerker for me. Kym put a hold on her career and adopted the biological son of her mentee from the Big Sister program. The mother had left the child in the hospital maternity ward with only Kym as the contact. After getting a call from the hospital telling her, “Your baby is ready for collection,” Whitley called on the help of her friends and parents—whom she calls “The Village”—to help her raise the child.
