If I only had a dollar for every bride who came to me and said, “I’m going to get married at home and save so much money!” I also hear, “My uncle has a HUGE yard and we’re going to have the wedding there so I can save lots of cash!”
Ummm…..think again.
Your house, your grandma’s house, your uncle’s house…they will all cost you a TON.
Most brides are thinking that they’ll save hundreds, if not thousands, by not paying a room rental fee. They also think that they can get their favorite friend/restaurant/family member to provide catering, so they won’t pay the high cost of using the catering provided by the popular hotel that they originally considered.

While you don’t have to pay a room rental fee, there are LOTS of other things you have to pay for:
-You may need a tent in case of rain or extreme heat.
-You might need sides for the tent and air-conditioning if it’s just too darn hot to be outside.
-You need to rent tables, chairs, linens, plates, glasses, silverware…
