Harlem rapper, Azealia Banks drops a few bars and adds a few twerks to remix Baauer’s “Harlem Shake.” Baauer originally recorded the tune back in May 2012, but it was just a few weeks ago that more than 12,000 video remixes surfaced on YouTube.

The new Harlem Shake is nothing like the ’80s shoulder jiggle. It begins with one person dancing to the song alone for 15-20 seconds, surrounded by others standing still. When the bass drops, everyone joins in on the fun and we’re all dancing now. The video are usually under one minute.

Azealia’s version doesn’t really immolate the original concept at all. She lays a few twerk inspired words, “Shake me, shake it, and keep it rollin/ Rotate this circle shift it and keep it going/ Now you made it, and now he know it/ Your shake’s the favorite, so now they want it.” Watch the video below and tell us if you’re confused too. Did she just steal the homies beat?
