Remember the buxom bombshell Kid of “Kid n’ Play” lusted over in “Class Act”? Or how about the young woman whose blood curdling screams awakened a quiet house after Ricky had been shot in “Boyz N’ The Hood.” Alysia Rogers has been on a hiatus from acting but after 20 years of living outside the spotlight, the buxom beauty landed a role in “Beyond Merritt,” an independent film about the triumphs and struggles of single motherhood.

“Lynda Merritt’s life resonated with me because she is a strong woman who has overcome so much adversity. She is one of my heroes. What really made me interested in doing the film is that the script was very well-written and the role was very challenging.  The film’s message is to never loose hope. No matter what goes on in your life, you can break free and move forward,” said Rogers about the role.

She shares the screen with a talented array of thespians, including: Mashari Laila Bain (The Young & The Restless, Without A Trace) and Mike Estime (Everybody Hates Chris, The Last Holiday).
