Newt Gingrich needs to have a seat in a section labeled, “Who asked you?” When Republican Senate Candidate, Richard Mourdock commented on abortions for rape victims with the following words, “I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen,” it wasn’t obvious that his word choice needing refining or even an explanation.

After some backlash, he clarified for us that he meant the life conceived in rape was meant to happen, not the act of rape.

Gingrich made an appearance on “This Week,” supporting Mourdock by saying something equally as taboo:

“Every candidate I know, every decent American I know condemns rape. OK, so why can’t people like Stephanie Cutter get over it? We all condemn rape.”

Who is the Stephanie Cutter woman that he’s singling out? That’s President Obama’s Deputy Campaign Manager who also appeared on “This Week” before Gingrich. So his statement is in response to Cutter saying:

“Just this past week we saw it, when he wouldn’t take down his ad for Richard Mourdock, who had — you know, it’s a now famous comment that it’s God’s will if a woman gets pregnant through rape. He’s not willing to stand up when it matters,”
