Jay-Z‘s lifestyle website Life + Times recently launched a few video series over the weekend after his sold out shows at the Barclays Center. One of them will be a cooking show starring a black supermodel. Jourdan Dunn, who also moonlights as a rapper when she’s not stomping on runways, will host one of three new shows on the new Life + Times YouTube channel as an official partnership with the Google-owned platform.

The cooking show is affectionately titled, “Well Dunn With Jourdan Dunn”– get it! A little cheesy for my taste but I’m always excited to see black supermodels get some shine. Although Jourdan has been successful in her modeling career, the appearance of a black model on the runway or otherwise has always been almost obsolete. So any work is good work. Jourdan took to Twitter, of course, to show her excitement:
What’s the irony of a 5’10 110 lb. (just my assumptions) beauty dishing her secrets in the kitchen? Salads and bread anyone?! Jourdan is certainly no Paula Dean but I wish her the best of luck in her new gig and I truly hope she’s cooking more than boiled eggs.
