There is something in a powerful voice that makes your heart flutter and the hairs on your arms stand at attention. The ability and talent to leave a lasting impression on a listener’s heart is no short of amazing. That is how we feel about Jermaine Paul–every time his vocal cords vibrate, a moving a harmonic sound radiates from his brown lips.
Before winning season two of NBC’s “The Voice,” he sang backup for entertainers such as Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige. Keys was one of the first people to congratulate him when he won. “She told me she’s been watching me and supporting me the whole time. She was saying how proud of me she was,” said the husband and father of four in an interview with the Daily News.
Paul’s journey to stardom started in Harriman, NY, where he lived for two years until moving to India with his grandmother. There, while in the grooves of the Indian culture, he picked up a new talent playing the banjo. Before finishing High School, he honed his craft in chorus and was signed to Shaq’s label.
Something is to be said about Paul’s resilience. It is admirable and that is one of the reasons we adore him as an artist. He is a God-fearing man and on top of his debonair looks, he is kind, approachable and hard-working.
Paul has a long road ahead but it looks bright. He is the next big voice!
