As part of Toyota’s Summertime Remixed series we take you to some of the biggest events in Miami, Florida. Whether you want to rub elbows with the biggest names in entertainment or enjoy a more intimate lounge experience we’ve got you covered.

Once a year in South Beach everything is Irie. DJ Irie that is. Every June the official mix master of the NBA’s World Champion Miami Heat sends out the Bat signal to his celebrity friends to attend his DJ Irie Weekend Celebrity Golf Tournament to play a few holes and raise funds for local charities.

“We’re here making this happen for the 8th year in a row and someway somehow it keeps getting bigger and better,” says Irie.

With almost a decade of fundraising DJ Irie’s Celebrity Golf Tournament was even more elaborate a than ever. The festivities kicked off with a private party at private residence on Star Island that featured flame jugglers, a Carnival theme and lots and lots of libations.

The following day guests hit the Melreese Country Club to cruise the course, take in the beats and knock around a few balls. Notable attendees included The Miami Heat’s Alonzo Mourning, NFL star Jonathan Vilma and Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes.

“This is a great event,” said Vilma. “Irie is my boy and I Iove to support.”

The Mayor of Miami, Carlos Gimenez, honored the DJ by declaring it Irie Foundation Day in recognition of his efforts.

If you’re in South Beach more than once a year (as most of us are) SET nightclub invites you to to “Make Hip Hop History” every Wednesday where guests like Talib Kweli have come through to move the crowd. Resident DJs include Affect, Fly Guy and of course DJ Irie. Ladies text “HIPHOP” to 38714 from your mobile phones for complimentary open bar from 11pm til 1230am.

For those more inclined to pop lock than pop bottles, grassroots collective Catalyst hosts events in the Miami Springs area that feature DJs, graffiti art, breaking and open mics. But somewhere between the bling and b-boy, Grand Central in downtown Miami hosts regular shows featuring artists like Schoolboy Q, Mayer Hawthorne, Little Dragon and Theophilus London.

On Sundays LIV Nightclub [http://www.livnightclub.com/] in hosts the biggest urban party in the city and a must stop if you are in town for the weekend. Regulars include this guy named Lil Wayne and this dude you may have heard of, T.I.

Whether your cause is to raise money or raise the roof Miami, Florida has an assortment of activities to flex your music muscles.
