How old is Evelyn Lozada? Lozada is 36 years old, which might come as a surprise to anyone who’s seen her on the VH1 reality series Basketball Wives, where she hardly acts her age. Lozada, who was once engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker and is now slated to marry NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, has garnered negative attention for her violent outbursts, and fans even started a petition saying her behavior had gotten out of control.

Lozada might have taken the criticism to heart; in June 2012, the New York City native penned a letter from her 36-year-old self to her 7-year-old self. It was a kind of apology for how she’d been acting on Basketball Wives, and she promised to “try to be better.”

“In exactly twenty-nine years you’re going to find yourself at the middle of a mess that you unwillingly helped to create,” she wrote, according to the Huffington Post. “You’re going to be the topic of a discussion about women on a national level that won’t be one of your proudest moments. And as large as your life may be at that time, the truth is that you’re going to feel painfully small.”

Self-improvement isn’t the only struggle Lozada is facing, though. In June 2012, TMZ reported, as she and Ochocinco were preparing to film the season finale for Ocho and Eve, their spinoff VH1 reality series, they were turned down by some of the Miami hotels they’d been eyeing as possible wedding venues. Evidently, the hotels feared that Lozada’s wedding might devolve into a fistfight. Around the same time, Ochocinco was released by the New England Patriots, so maybe he’ll have more time to hunt for nuptial locales.
