An Atlanta KKK group has plans to join the “Adopt-A-Highway” program. According to the Huffington Post, the International Keystone Knights of the KKK applied last month to adopt a one-mile stretch of Route 515 in the Appalachian Mountains.

The desire to adopt this highway is said to help with litter control, but the powers that be in the Georgia Department of Transportation are skeptical and have to meet with the Attorney General today to decide how to move forward with the request.

According to the program, a group cannot be denied a highway based on their political beliefs and views. I don’t know–I smell sinister intentions, but that’s just my limited and skewed view of the KKK. This can’t be a request for noble purposes.
