“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Nene Leakes is making sure that she’s the most sought after cast member of the entire franchise. It seems Nene’s recurring role on “Glee” satisfied “Glee’s” creator, Ryan Murphy because he’s casted Nene in his new NBC comedy, “The New Normal.”
“The New Normal” follows a gay Beverly Hills couple as they try to start a family. The two turn to a surrogate, Goldie (Georgia King). Nene gets to play Rocky, one of the gay guy’s assistants. In an interview with Huffington Post, Nene said, “I take it very personal, honey, if you talk about my gays, honey. Only I can talk about them and I’m fabulous.”
Speaking of fabulous, Nene doesn’t have to dress like her “Glee” character, Roz Washington–who is always in sweats and sneakers. This time around, Nene’s character, Rocky is always strutting in heels, kind of the way Nene is.

Excited about her new role, Nene says, “I hope to stay on ‘Glee,’ I hope to still be a’ Housewife’ and I hope to do ‘The New Normal.’ I just want to do it all! Why not? I’m only going to be young for a little while longer.”
“The New Normal” premieres in the fall on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Will you be watching?
