Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was slain by a gunshot as he stood outside a Memphis hotel on April 4, 1968, at 6:01 p.m. Central time. He was in the midst of fighting for the Civil Rights of our people and he stood on a platform of no violence. The disgusting irony in his death is enough to cause pain deep enough to span generations.

Today, we remember his fight and we remember his dream. We’re living Dr. King, but each day, we still have to fight the good fight. Your martyrdom isn’t in vain. RIP.
